Bialystok is the city located Podlaska’s Lowland, in the west part of Wysoczyzna macroregion. It is still the biggest city in North-East part of Poland and in the same time- the capital of Podlaskie’s province.

Considering the group of Polish provincial capitals and the population density, Bialystok is on the second position in that regards, 11th considering the population and 13th considering the urban area. Furthermore, Bialystok is the administrative, economic, scientific and cultural Centre. Bialystok is located near the coutries such as: Belarus, Lithuania and Russia and has got easy communication links, which provides an excellent conditions for economic and cultural development of the city.

The best geographical and historical circumstances cause that Bialystok is a place where people representing different cultures, religions and nations had been living together for hundred of years. This phenomenom definitely shows openess, tolerance, hospitability and kindness of these inhabitants.
