University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz

University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz is a school with over 60 years great tradition.

Initially, it was established as an Engineering School - first Higher Education Institution in Bydgoszcz. Engineers, Chemists and Mechanics were educated in here. Next, this school was converted into College of Engineering, educating students in stationary, non- stationary systems at 4 Faculties: Faculty of Construction, Faculty of Technology and Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanics and Faculty of Telecommunication and Electrotechnics. Initially, the department of College of Agriculture in Bydgoszcz with Faculty of Agriculture was established in 1969, then also Faculty of Zootechnics was opened. These universities have created the Academy of Technology and Agriculture in 1974.

After 55 years of its existing, Polish Government launched the resolution about the School name, which has been changed into: University of Technology and Life Sciences. All departments of our University are entitled to give the Phd Degree, while 3 of them (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology, Faculty of Agriculture and Biotechnology) for giving the postdoctoral degree with the opportunity to aply for professor degree.

Both didactic and scientific activity is based on the cooperation between almost all Polish Universities of Technology and Agriculture as well as with a lot of International Centres.

University of Technology and Life Sciences in Bydgoszcz is comprehensive University, the only one which educates engineers who have no problems with finding proper job either in Poland or abroad.

Students of our school have the opportunity to apply for scholarships (according to the resolution): social, special one for disabled students, scientific, sport, PhD scholarships.

For stationary students - they can also apply for housing scholarships.

Our University also takes an active part in Programmes such as: MostAR, MOSTECH and LLP/Erasmus, which is based on studying abroad. MostAR programme is the new form of educational Agriculture Universities in Poland. It is dedicated to students who would like to study abroad for 1 or 2 semesters while MOSTECH programme is an exchange programme for students of Technical Universities in Poland.

Bydgoszcz is 400 thousand metropolis, capital of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie located at the mouth of the river Brda and the Vistula , is one of the largest economic centers in Poland.

Modernity and openness of the city’s residents decided to include a training center in Bydgoszcz, NATO troops called in shorts the JFTC.

It’s impossible to look at the economic potential of the city, it’s diversity without paying attention to the importance of its development. Particularly evident in the examples preserved locks of the Canal Bydgoszcz and wonderful objects of industrial construction.

Gem are undoubtedly those locks, which are unique in the world examples of hydraulic equipment. A canal built in the late eighteenth century, recalls with a rich history that it was in city life and Poland.

River transport has become flywheel the city’s economy in previous centuries and today one can admire the number preserved examples of industrial buildings associated with water. In particular, many relics of the old Bydgoszcz, survived in the city center. Do not miss the Mill Island. Few in Europe, is so charming places in the city. 1st Degree Studies – STATIONARY AND NON- STATIONARY STUDIES

The condition for applying for our studies is having the certificate of secondary education and fulfilling the requirements for recruitment process and all obligatory principles at each specialization:

1. Candidates acceptation for the 1st year of studies follows within the framework of the limits, concluded by the departments and accepted by senate (resolution).
2. Laureate and finalists of contests are accepted for the 1st year of studies by Department Commissions according to the senate resolution nr 4/306 z from 21st of May 2008 related to the exact acceptation principles of Laureates for 2009 - 2011.
3. Other Candidates acceptation is based on the recruitment process results within the framework of Places Limitation. Moreover, it is sort of ranking of the points received during secondary school examination.
4. Candidate who didn’t pass any subjects which are considered during the recruitment process, still can apply for our studies – however, gaining no points.

2nd Degree Studies - STATIONARY AND NON- STATIONARY STUDIES

1. The condition for being accepted for 1st year of studies is having the Bachelor or Engineer Degree in the same area as the specialization that candidate applied for as well as master degree or master engineer (including the specializations mentioned in resolution of Senate nr 4/316 from 22nd of April 2009) and submitting the documents, then complying with conditions of recruitment process, obligatory at each specialization)
2. The condition for the candidate on the ranking list is the diploma with grade within the framework of agreed limit.

In case of the same grade on diploma, the candidate with higher grades average will be accepted.
