Tischner European University is a young, dynamic institution of higher education specializing in social sciences. It was founded in February 2003 by Znak Publishing House - an institution that for the past 60 years has been a cultural landmark in Poland.
The core of our mission is to assist our students in developing their potential by a combination of rigorous requirements with a caring, individual approach. It is our wish to educate active, open-minded citizens, ready to participate in dialogue with others.
In the current academic year there are 1,300 undergraduate and postgraduate students and over 450 students of professional development programmes taught by over 100 teachers and lecturers at our University.
We offer a rich, innovative and highly topical study programme. Most classes are taught by prominent Polish academics, who have also taught at many European and American universities. Our international contacts and exchange programmes provide students with considerable opportunities for studying abroad. Every year an increasing number of international students come to TEU to complete part of their studies.

Tischner European University enjoys the support of eminent figures of authority. The Board of Patrons is made up of members representing academic, political and literary circles: an outstanding group of intellectuals genuinely engaged in the changes taking place in Poland. The Board of Patrons include such figures as Władysław Bartoszewski, Zbigniew Brzeziński, Norman Davies, Tadeusz Mazowiecki and many more.
