In 2002 Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów has been listed in the registry of higher education non-public institutions by the number 115.
Since 2002 up to 2008 the university has run education only on the first degree studies.
Since its beginnings the university educated students on the faculty „administration”. Since October 2003 two additional faculties has been opened: „pedagogy” and In 2005 the faculty „management” has been opened, and in 2006 the acceptance to run the „environmental protection” faculty has been obtained. In October 2007 the university was granted with rights to run the first degree studies on the faculty „internal security”.
In July 2008 the university obtained the right to run the second degree studies on the faculty „pedagogy”.
On 27 September 2004 the university is under the patronage of a prominent Italian and European statesman Alcide De Gasperi – one of the founders of the unified Europe. By the decision of the Minister the school became known as „Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów “ (UEE).
During the first period of universities activity at the school functioned one administrative unit called Administration and Humanities Faculty. During the period from 01 September 2005 till 07 October 2008 there were two departments in the school.
At present due to the fact of obtaining the rights to run the second degree studies on the faculty „pedagogy” and on the basis of the Rector`s disposition the administrative units of the university has been transformed: Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty changed its name into Faculty of Pedagogy Faculty. Administration Faculty changed its name into Faculty of Social Sciences.
To the Faculty of Pedagogy the pedagogy faculty (first and second degree studies) has been assigned. The Faculty is managed by dr Mirosława Raczkowska-Lipińska.
To the Faculty of Social Sciences the „administration”, „management”, „internal security” and „environmental protection” faculties (first degree studies) have been assigned. Faculty is managed by dr Mirosława Raczkowska-Lipińska.
The structure UEE consists of two basic sections:
- Scientific – didactic section, which has been described above
- Administrative – economy section which is formed by the rest of the administrative units of the university which carry out administrative, office and economy issues
The structure of the university is complemented by the one-person organs like: chancellor, rector and deans as well as collective organs like senate and Faculty Council which also consists of – according to the act of higher education institutions and the universities statute – the representatives of the students self-government.
Didactic facilities
The seat of the University is located in the building of a former elementary school in Jozefów (Michalin) in ulica Sienkiewicza 2. The construction of the building was finished in 1995. It is planned to take the place into hereditary tenure or to buy it.
In the building there are 14 lecture rooms which can house about 1000 students at one time. In the change mode the University may house the double amount of the students which means about 2000. At present at the university study about 800 students. Lecture rooms are well found and fully equipped with all the necessary instruments needed to run the lectures. Among other it consists of projectors for transparencies, multimedia projector, tables and other.
An important venture for the University was the start of its development which officially came up on 22 April 2006. The accumulative area of the new building is estimated to 4000 square meters including two lecture halls for 250 people, 15 lecture rooms, faculty and students premises. The first stage of the construction has been finished before the 2006/2007 academic year. At present the first stage of the development has been finished thus the university has at its disposal a second building which covers 800 square metres. In this object there are three lecture halls: one for 450 students and the remaining two for 120 people both.
During this academic year all of the lectures are held in the newly developed seat of the University. The students have the constant access to the administrative sections of the University, among others: Deanery, University`s Library and the students club “Żak”.
Scientific and didactic needs triggered the creation of a well-equipped computer room which is always available for the students. The educational rooms are equipped with projectors, multimedia equipment and other necessary didactic means.

Student programs
The university supports the young people by enabling them to develop their interests. The possibility to organise themselves in societies and students clubs has been specified in the rector`s disposition no. 28 issued on 28 December 2005. The functioning of scientific clubs in the university, including The Pedagogical Science Club „PEDAGOG”, are defined in the charters of those clubs. Both administration and the faculty are open to all of the students initiatives, willingly supporting them.
The students of pedagogy run The Pedagogical Science Club „PEDAGOG” which is under the substantial auspices of the dean and the faculty and is directly supervised by the person who leads the student affairs department.
