College of Marketing Management and Foreign Languages in Katowice Gallus

The school was established in 1994 - the Ministry of National Education decided to put it on the Private Universities in Poland list under the number 45.

In a short time, we became entitled to conduct master studies as well as giving the PHD degree.

Since 21.03.2005, College of Marketing Management and Foreign Languages in Katowice, as the first private school, gained accreditation to conduct full studies.

WSZMiJO, as one of the first Private schools, received the certificate of RELIABLE SCHOOL from the Academic Information Centre.

The School mission is the education - research programme implementation based on the knowledge, experience and the academic teachers dedication.

Our aim is an instant development, the individual units support, helping with growing - all for our students and employees.

We also provide with an opportunity to put their passions, hobbies into life by creating many activities as well as supporting many various projects. WSZMiJO provides with an excellent conditions to gain knowledge and practical skills, so our graduates can be successful on the job market, both in Poland and abroad.

We use the innovation and creativeness of our students, also supporting them in science and cultural projects implementation. Students organize workshops, seminaries, conferences, debates, exhibitions, movies presentations, they also learn about other countries and publish their own magazine.

Our College values the foreign languages teaching, we pass the newest knowledge about the world and try to take the advantage from the international contacts we have, while teaching. What is also worth to mention is the fact that also foreigners study at our school within the framework of the educational exchange programmes.

About City

Katowice – the heart of 2,1 milions of aglomeration in Silesia region, has been perceived as a industrial city. Currently, it is real European City where modernity is connected to tradition.

City is located on the Silesia upland, in the south part of Poland, as a crossroad of European communciation routes.

There is highway A4 close to Ka towice as well as A1 which is in process of building. City is connected to international airport „Katowice-Pyrzowice”, which has been developed very decently - around 1,5 milions of people use it thanks to the dozens of the connections to the biggests European cities. Furthermore, Katowice also offers the smaller airport, close to the centrum, adjusted for serving business flights.

Katowice offer students a lot. Special pubs, caffees, cinemas, theatres with interesting programme as well as Spodek wityh such an events as: „Rawa Blues”, „Metalmania”, „Mayday” and world Basketball League or „Free Style Motocross”.

Since last year, also Mariacka street became the cultural palce because of plenty concerts which are organized there.

It's pretty easy to find places for a walk, chilling when lectures are too boring. Places like: Dolina Trzech Stawów (3 ponds valley), Park Kościuszki (Kosciuszka's square) or Las Murckowski (the wood), invite you to relax.

It is worth to mention that more than half part of the city is covered by green. There is also maginicient park and zoo garden in Chorzow.

Katowice is the capital city of Silesian Province. It lies on the Kłodnica and Rawa rivers. It is the centre of the Upper Silesian Industry Region.
