We are the University with over 60 years of tradition, rich experience in field of development and education. Over 150 000 graduates left the University walls, moreover- the science degrees were obtained by 3 200 PhD graduates and over 700 habilitated doctors. Several researching are conducted in dozens of Science Disciplines within the framework of 10 Departments, 25 Institutes and 5 units (Institute entitlement). We also take part in Programmes focused on international cooperation between Universities with schools from USA, Brazil, Russia, Korea, Ukraine and Belarus. We offer Bachelor, Master, PhD and Postgraduate studies, individual ones as well as regular ones.

Within the framework of 10 Faculties, we provide 39 Courses and over 120 specializations. We conduct Collegium in Radom, Biala Podlaska and Bilgoraj and the Collegium of Human Arts in Kazimierz Dolny. Apart from the power of tradition and excellent Academic Staff, we offer Academic Campus to our students with didactic Base, a possibility to develop their interests in student organizations and sport sections. Our University was also awarded by the title of “Friendly University for students” Title by the Polish Parliament on the 14.09.2004.

About City

Lublin is the biggest city situated East of the Vistula river. It has about 400 thousand citizens. It has been developing and becoming more and more beautiful over the years. The city is famous for its historic buildings and tourist attractions. The Old Town is one of the most interesting old town complexes in Poland. It is surrounded with fortifications with two gates, which survived to our time: Grodzka and Krakowska with nearby semicircular corner tower. Within the Old Town there are valuable church monuments: Jesuit college with original polychrome from the middle of the 18th century or the basilica of the Dominicans, surrounded by 11 chapels. Outside the Old Town, on the Castle Hill, there is a Lubelski Castle, built during the reign of Casimir the Great, with the surviving Chapel of the Holy Trinity and a corner tower. Interesting collections are presented in the regional museums: Museum of the Lublin region (at the Castle), Museum of the History of the City of Lublin, Lublin Village Museum.

There are numerous cultural centres and units in Lublin. Juliusz Ostrewa Drama Theatre, Musical Theatre, Lubelska Philharmonic Orchestra, National Puppet and Actor Theatre, Artistic Stage of KUL, Theatre Practice Centre “Gardzienice” and many, many others.

The neighbourhood of Lublin is attractive to tourists: among tourist attractions the palace-park complex in Kozłówka, Kazimierz Dolny with castle ruins in Janowiec and spa town Nałęczów can be listed.

Interesting Places

Lublin belongs to one of the oldest cities in Poland. One can find remains from all epochs, starting from the beginnings of the Polish nation, through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, which constituted a golden age in the city development, and then Baroque and Classicism. 20th century also contributed to the city and left many interesting constructions behind.

Architecture of Lublin consists of not only the Old Town and old houses, but also church architecture. The church buildings of many styles – from Gothic to the Modern Times – can be found there. The construction of a town on the Castle Hill is contributed to Bolesław the Brave. The oldest surviving constructions are: the Holy Trinity Church and a Keep at the Castle. The fortified tower next to the Krakowska Gate also remembers the times of the castle construction and renovation. Former buildings of the St. Lazarus Hospital and St. Adalbert Church.

Within administrative borders of Lublin there is a Zemborzycki Lake. It offers water-ski lift, swimming pools, water-equipment rental and accommodation.

UMCS Recruitment rules:

UMCS conducts the education on 2 levels (apart from Law and Psychology), stationary and non – stationary studies. There is possibility to study at both main department in Lublin as well as in Collegium in Biala podlaska, Bilgoraj, Radfom or in Collegium of Human Arts in Kazmierz Dolny.

• Each course can be opened only if at least 25 candidates applied and were accepted for the 1st year of studies (unless the Dean will decide differently)
• Recruitment is organized by the Department Recruitment Commissions under the leadership of Dean/li>
• Every candidate with the High School Diploma can apply for our studies
• Candidates with International High School Diploma are treated in the same way as the others
• Applications are taken only through IRK on-line registration system

Candidates qualified for studies should submit documents listed below:

• The High School Diploma- original or duplicate
• Medical Certificate confirming that there are no obstacles to study at chosen specialization, for teaching studies- statement about ability to work as a teacher
• ID photocopy
• signed application form from the on- line registration system IRK
• 2 valid photos according to the ID requirements
• Accepted candidates for 2nd level studies, should also submit the duplicate of Bachelor Diploma

Apart from these documents, candidates should pay the registration fee and download the elctronic photo form into IRK system.

Recruitment Results are opened and available for candidates in IRK system as well as in a traditional ways- on the announcement board.
