Poznan University of Life Sciences is the University which has been developing dynamically for region as well as fo the whole country, school with over 100 years history and already established academic traditions.

Prestige and modernity, professional academic stuff and experience confirm one of the highest positions at the Universities list in Poland as well as in international field.

We were established in connection with the University’s patron – August Cieszkowski – magnificent scientist, great philosopher. The didactic offer and the studies programme provide the education on both practical and theoretical level, at courses related to the agriculture and environment, its protection and production and processing.

The newest established courses are: The Landscape Architecture, Spatial Economy, Finance and Banking, Commodity studies and Tourism and Recreation.

From 2011, we are going to offer new studies: Ecoenergetcis and Veterinary.

The wide education offer and high standards provide many opportunities for our graduates.

There is also European System of Tranfer and Acumulation the Points (ECTS) functioning- thanks to it the exchange between European Universities is possible. Secondly, the programme Most – AR has been established - within its framework our students may study at the other University in Poland for 1 semester or more. On the international level - we provide the chance to take part in Erasmus programme as well as in Leonardo da Vinci one.

Poznan University of Life Sciences educates over 12 000 students at 1st degree studies, mostly gaining the vocational degree of Engineer, then at master studies and PhD studies as well.

Further education is also possible at Postgraduate studies- we provide 22 courses. Students can develop their interests while being active in 16 science student organizations. Studies time is also the time for having cultural passions - everyone can take part in music projects- we have 3 music bands: „Łany”,the choir: „Coro Da Camera” and band of buglers „Venator”.

For sport lovers there is Academic Sport Club with 17 sections. Trainings are organized in University’s facilities, received in 2008 as well as 4 tennis courts.

All researches and observation can be presented by a student at the annual Session of the University Associations as well as at Polish and International Sessions, for instance: Polish Academic Seminarium of Biotechnology Students, The art and science festival in Poznań. One of the most popular ones are the Environment Protection Days Celebration, International Competition for Foresters, INTERFOB Conference, canoeing, education trips. POZNAN UNIVERSITY OF LIFE SCIENCES also conducts trainings such as: "Create your own business", "Investment without secrets", also trainings about Market.

Our University established the programme Monstar within which students can study 1 semester abroad at another agriculture university in Poland , starting from the second year of studies. Poznań is one of the oldest and biggest Polish cities (fifth regarding the number of citizens, sixth as far as the area is concerned), at the Warta river. The capital city of the Wielkopolska region, of the Wielkopolskie voivodship and Poznań archdiocese.

Poznań is regarded the cradle of the country of Poland. It used to be a capital city of the country and the seat of the rulers.

It is a very dynamic economic, academic, scientific and cultural centre. A very large industrial area (Poznański Okręg Przemysłowy) and service centre, here the annual Międzynarodowe Targi Poznańskie [International Poznań Trade Fair] is held.

In Poznań there are eight public higher universities and more than a dozen of private ones, jointly educating about 133 000 students. There are 221 per each 1000 students. In this respect Poznań is located at the first place among the big Polish cities.

The city is called the “music capital city of Poland” due to the amount of boys’ and male choirs active in the city, Henryk Wieniawski violin and violin-making competitions, organised every five years, as well as due to the activity of the chamber orchestra directed by Agnieszka Duczmal, opera, and the Polish Dance Theatre.

1st degree studies

Recruitment for 1st eyar of studies and for master studies- Veterinary, will be conducted in a ways explained below:

*only stationary studies

After graduation of 1st or 2nd year of srudies- there is a chance for choosing the specialization- the list is available on our website: www.up.poznan.pl

The Main principle obeyed in the recruitment process the marks from:

1. The High school final examination(new exam)on the basic o extended level (old exam), written and oral examination from 1 chosen subject (for Veterinary faculty from 2), 80% of points.
2. The High School Diploma examination fro Polish and Modern foreign language on the basic level or extended one, or the written, oral examination – 20% points.
3. In case that candidate didn’t pass the foreign language exam, the mark from the high school diploma will be considered.

Subjects which are considered during the recruitment process at every course, both stationary and non stationary:

Candidates for the Landscape Architecture course are obliged to pass the exam of manual drawing before the recruitment process starts. Exam will be held in the second half of June 2012.Also the statement about the positive results form the examination will be considered for the Architecture course.

Non stationary studies are paid. The Fee depends on the costs in terms of conducting the studies. Payment should be transferred to our bank account before the semester starts.

The fee amount for Academic Year 2012/2013 will be settled by the Rector till 31.03.2012 and will be published on : www.up.poznan.pl.

2nd degree studies

2nd degree studies are offered for those candidates who have the vocational degree of Master, Bachelor, Engineer or equal.

Studies which end with giving the title of Vocational Master Engineer, can be started by graduates of 1st degree studies with Engineer title.

Recruitment for stationary 2nd degree studies will be conducted as listed below:

Recruitment process for both stationary and non stationary studies will be focused on the ranking of Marks average of 1st degree studies and the Diploma grade, where:

1. 75% places limits will be dedicated for students of course related strictly to the 2nd degree studies specialization chosen
2. In case of having places left, filling them in on the basis of the final high school exam results, agreed by the Faculty Directors.
3. Dean can make a decision about no examination organization for these graduates who had already finished the school with specialization related to 2nd degree studies they applied for.

The Examination scope is published on our Website not later than 1 month in advance, before the registration deadline.

For the Landscape Architecture course only students of 1st degree course at the same faculty.

Recruitment for the master studies starts after the recruitment process ending, in support of the recruitment process results as well as the candidate interest.

University of Natural Sciences in Poznań conducts the recruitment for 2nd degree stationary studies in English:

• Forestry in terms of Wood Economy
• Gardening in terms of plants breeding and seeds
• Agriculture
• Food and Human Nutrition Technology

Non stationary studies are paid. The Fee depends on the costs in terms of conducting the studies. Payment should be transferred to our bank account before the semester starts.
