Military and Technical Academy of Jarosław Dąbrowski in Warsaw is a state College, established in 1951.

It is also military-civil school of technology which educates soldiers and civil people for Military Services and National Economy Needs.

Military and Technical Academy of Jarosław Dąbrowski in Warsaw conducts 1st degree studies (bachelor, engineering), 2nd degree studies (master studies), stationary and non – stationary and prepares for gaining doctors degree (3rd degree studies).

There are also post graduate studies and some extra trainings.

1st degree studies (bachelor or engineering) are organized for those who had already got the High School Diploma.

Bachelor studies are conducted at technical courses, they last 7 semesters. Bachelor studies are organized at the „National Safety” studies and „Management”, last 6 semesters and end with gaining the Bachelor degree. 2nd degree studies were established for those who gained bachelor degree, engineer degree of master degree- graduates will get the title of master or Master engineer.

For those who would like to work in Wojsko Polskie's officer, our academy offers military studies – for future professional soldier.after graduation, students gain the engineer title and are appointed to the title of cornet, sign a contract and are sent to the Military Units.

During 60 years of its existence, we'd educated over 45 000 graduates. Currently, at 6 faculties, 14 specializations, over 8 000 students (including 941 officer cadets) enlarge their knowledge. Didactic process is realized by didactic-scientific staff and over 378 doctors, 88 professors, 80 professors with post doctoral title. Academy has been also entitlened to grant by the degrees.

At the same time, Wojskowa Akademia Techniczna is the scientific unit, well prepared for complex research in field of basic, development and implementation researching, including projects, prognosis regarding the systems and economy tools development for Military, economy fields as well as military services, technical counselling and qualification examinations.

The System of Quality Management (SZJ) according to the International Norm ISO 9001:2008.

Fulfilling requirements included in this norm is to focus on the quality in conformity with international standards. High level of science and research projects has been confirmed by several innovations, patents implemented, inventions and prestigious prizes both from Ppoland and abroad. WAT cooperates with a lot of Polish Science and Researching Institutes as well as with over 60 Institutes and universities from abroad (from 20 countries of the world). The effects of science researching are prizes granted by Polish Academy of Science and over 1 000 patents, including 60 international ones.

Projects presented at Polish and International exhibitions, verified and accepted, gain respect all over the world.

There is ECTS system at our school. It provides an opportunity to study abroad or in Poland at different Universities or Colleges. International Students Exchange is conducted in the frame of LLP Erasmus and other programmes.

Within the framework of the funds provided by WAT, students and PhD students can apply for special forms of financial support:

International Cooperation

Military and Technical Academy of Jarosław Dąbrowski in Warsaw invited you to take this unique opportunity of applying for studies abroad within the framework of Erasmus.

This programme has been integrating academic community in Europe for over 20 years, increasing the level of education at European Universities. Our academy joined Erasmus in 2002. Since then, we started to cooperate with several schools from whole Europe. On the basis of signed agreements, WAT students can study and have internships in: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Finland, France, UK, Hungary, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, Norway, Latvia, Germany, Spain, Netherlands, Lithuania and in Italy.

Internships:

WAT provides 6 faculties. Each of them takes care of its students, providing internships. The extra advantage is very good opinion of wat students - our University cooperates with the biggest and the best companies in Poland and abroad.

About City

Warsaw – capital city and the biggest city in Poland, situated in the middle-eastern part of the country, in the Mazovia region, at the Vistula river.

The ‘Hybrydy’ club has two air-conditioned rooms. In the club various music events, concerts and cabarets’ performances take place. Acid jazz, soul, funky, latino, big beat and jazz can be heard there. The Voliera bar – ‘chill out room’ is situated in the lower part of the club. It is open from 9 pm. Comfortable sofas and a small bar help the visitors relax and regenerate.

Proxima

‘Approximate’ means ‘close’. ‘Proximity’ means ‘neighbourhood’. The word ‘proximate’ is understood as ‘direct’, whereas ‘proximal’ as ‘closer’. GENERAL PRINCIPLES IN RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR MILITARY, STATIONARY STUDIES, 1st DEGREE.

Proper candidate for military studies can apply for studies if:

• has got the Polish citizenship
• has not got the criminal record
• is physically able to work in Military service
• Turned into 18 (at least)
• Has got the High school Diploma

The recruitment process stages are as follows:

• Positive result of medical and psychological examination
• Physical ability test divided into 3 stages:
• WOMEN – power test – stick sag, speed test- run 50 metres, endurance test – 800 metres run
• MEN - power test – stick hanging, speed test- run 50 metres, endurance test – 1000 metres run
• English language test in case of lack of grades (conducted by WAT)
• Interview which aim is to find out the candidate's predispositions and motivation to work in Military Field.
• The High school examination analysis as well as other achievements gained at school
• For candidates with new high school exam from 2007-2011, the basic for points counting is only the result from written part of examination(mathematics, physics) apart from chemistry course), English and Polish language
• For candidates with new high school exam from 2006 and ealier as well as with old examination - the basic for points counting are the grades of: mathematics, physics – for all courses apasrt from chemistry, next- English and Polish Language. In case of lack of the grades from exam – the grades from Gymnasium will be considered

Candidate's registration is conducted centrally:

During the registration, candidate:

• registers in Internet Candidates Database (IRK) and submits:
• Application form to the rector, according to the pattern, resume and birth certificate duplicate
• Updates the application form with the high school examination results
• is obliged to pay the registration fee

Before the recruitment process will start, candidate is obliged to submit the documents as follow:

• High School Diploma (original or duplicate)
• Baccalaureate certificate
• Documents confirming achievements gained in high school
• Certificate about no criminal records
• Birth certificate duplicate
• CV
• 2 current photos (according to the requirements for ID)
• ID photocopy

1st degree Civil studies Recruitment principles

Registration can be made only through the IRK- Internet registration System.

The basis for counting the ranking points are:

• for candidates with new high school examinaton from 2007-2011 – only the results from written part (mathematics, physics for all courses apart from chemistry where chemistry is considered and national safety, management course where geography, history and Polish language are considered).
• For candidates with new examination f rom 2006 and earlier as well as for thsoe with an old examination – we consider grades from exam from mathematics, physics – for all courses (apart from chemistry – where chemistry grade is considered), at NATIONAL SAFETY and MANAGEMENT course we consider geography or history and foreign language, Polish Language. In case of not passing these subjects- we consider the grades of those from high school.
• At National Safety and management courses, the basis for counting points from geography or history is the result or grade which gives more ranking points
• Candidate gains maximum points number for foreign language if being the winner of contests, passed international high school exam, is the graduate of billingual class, is foreigner and passed high school examination in his mother tongue.
• Who didn't have to pass foreign language, is foreigner and passed high school exam from his mother tongue winners of various education and science contests described in the resolution of senate (26th of March, 2009) for 2010,2011 and 2012.

2nd degree Civil studies Recruitment principles:

• for the 2nd degree studies only person who gained Master, Engineer, Bachelor title or equal one, can be accepted
• Candidates registration is conducted centrally:
  • Through IRK – Internet Registration Database
  • Personally
  • Through post office
• After registration for 2nd degree studies, required document must be submitted (details on our website www.wat.edu.pl)
• Candidate can register for stationary or non - stationary studies, it can be also done simultaneously – however in that case his candidature will be considered first for stationary studies. When being rejected, papers are moved to the non stationary studies department.
• Recruitment processes are conducted at each faculties for every specialization
• Candidate has to clarify which course is interesting for him/her in application form, moreover, 3 specializations can be chosen – in case of being rejected for one of them, candidate can be accepted for another on the list,
• Running each specialization is determined by the number of candidates – the decision is made by the recruitment commission, while the decision about the places limitation is made by the Faculty recruitment commission, considering factors such as:
  • The studies specialization
  • The results of graduation
  • The results gained during studies
• on the basis of the results gained during studies as well as the results of graduation, commission prepares ranking list, according to which candidate will be accepted or rejected

Recruitment Process for 2nd level of studies is conducted twice.

• Regaridng studies which start in winter semester from october
• regarding studies which start in summer semester from february
