Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences is one of ten Public Universities in Lower Silesia Capital, titled as the best specialist higher education Schools in Poland. It will celebrate 60 th anniversary of existence. This University is a mix of tradition and modernity and it’s opened for future challenges.

University offers modern education at Biological and Technical Departments related to vegetal production, raising, animal farming, food economy, biology, biotechnology, veterinary medicine and landscape architecture, engineering, environment protection.

There are over 1,500 people employed at our University: academic teachers (professors, doctors) and administration stuff. Some students have already started their science researching, they are active participants in University’s community (organisations, groups).

You have an opportunity to choose from 19 stationery and 15 non-stationery studies and 32 specializations at Postgraduate studies, where 11,000 students (also foreigners) have already been studying.

Veterinary Course obtained Public Accreditation Commission special distinction and the other courses got positive opinion. During this 60 years perdiod, we published over 50 000 diplomas (both engineering and master).

Furthermore, Postgraduate Studies became more and more popular, especially courses which relate to properties valuation, food quality, safety management, work safety and UE knowledge.

Every year, around 2500 graduates equipped with specialistic knowledge and skills, leave our University. It’s also worth to mention that during studies at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, everyone has a chance to gain general knowledge, which will allow to work in various professions, completely different from the education given.

Our graduates are valuable secialists in great demand on the environmental market, leaders, companies owners. They develop their career in business, politics, finances and governmental areas. Many commune heads, mayors, councillors are the graduates from our University.

About City

Wrocław (in Latin: Wratislavia or Vratislavia, in Czech: Vratislav, in German: Breslau , in Hungarian. Boroszló ) ? historic capital city of Silesia, one of the biggest (fourth, according to the number of citizens) and oldest cities in Poland, situated at the Oder river, in the Silesian Lowlands.

There are 5 major rivers flowing through the city: Oder and its four tributaries: Bystrzyca, Oława, Ślęza and Widawa. Before the Second World War there were 303 bridges in the city, now there are about 220 of them. Wrocław is the capital city of the Dolnośląskie Province, a city with poviat rights (the Wrocław city poviat) and the capital city of the Wrocław poviat, gathering 9 nearby communes.

Interesting Places

Wrocław, the capital city of the Lower Silesia is one of the oldest and the most beautiful cities in Poland.

Of the times of the early Middle Ages reminds Ostrów Tumski, where one of the most beautiful sacred architecture complex is situated.

Another monument from this period is the Wrocław City Hall, considered one of the greatest Gothic constructions in the Middle Europe.

In Wrocław you can see one of the biggest baroque interiors, which survived to this day in Poland, that is Leopoldian Hall, constituting a part of the 18th century building of the University.

The old and the new architecture is surrounded by greenery.

Wrocław is the greenest city in Poland ? there are 25 square meters of greenery per citizen, excluding local greenery.

In the city centre there is a Szczytnicki Park, founded in the 18th century, where over 370 types of trees and bushes grow, as well as the original Japanese Garden, designed and upkept in accordance with the rules of Japanese gardening.

The Botanic Garden is just as good a place for walking, with its beautiful floral exposition, orangery, rock garden and the biggest cacti garden in Poland. The zoological garden, founded in 1865 with its 5.5 thousand animals representing 650 species is just as great.

Clinique

Clinique is a club for people, who enjoy ambitious house, Latin house, acid jazz and funky, soul and RNB music. The club is situated in the heart of the city, a few steps off the Wrocław market, at 15, Ofiar Oświęcimskich Street. Clinique is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, from 8 p.m. to the last guest.

Nautilius

The music club ?Nautilius? is one of the biggest and the best equipped clubs in Wrocław. Guests are welcomed by pleasant and professional security team, who admits people to the club. The club reminds the interior of a submarine, with comfortable boxes, functional bar and warm lighting, which creates a unique atmosphere.

Candidates for the 1st year of studies are accepted according to recruitmenr results, which is sort of typical contest. Candidates with the highest number of points, will be approved. However, at some departments, preliminary exams are compulsory (for instance landscape architecture).
